Some Music I’ve Been Writing

My brother in law Nels Nelson helped me record some pieces that I have written for my nieces’ graduation present. So far I have five written. Here are some links to the You Tube videos.

Lane, what a gift you have. Thank you so much for posting recordings of these beautiful pieces!

Thanks, Annette. They were a blast to write. And, with Finale 2009, very much easier to write than writing out pencil compositions!

As someone who has been trying to learn how to play piano, I can only envy you your gift.

Can you imagine what Mozart could have produced with that program?!

    Thanks, Josiah and Vern.

Annette, I have OFTEN thought of this with a great many composers. The copy and paste function alone saves hours upon hours. Each one of those five pieces would have taken me at least two weeks apiece to write out on paper with pencil. Each one took me about 5-10 hours total with Finale.

Okay, Lane. You ten talent guys really annoy me :)

To play that beautifully is one thing, but to compose like that…
My two college-age-piano-teacher daughters both said, “Wow, who is THAT?”

Thanks for sharing your gift, brother.
