New Book by R.C. Sproul

Here is a new book by Dr. Sproul, talking about Bible study, prayer, worship, service, and stewardship. Looks like a very practical help to the Christian life.

Thanks for the recommendation. I am always looking for “easy reads” for new believers and helpful guides. Good points here:

Five Things Every Christian Needs to Grow
r Nehemiah (the restoration of Jerusalem)
r Amos and Hosea (examples of minor prophets)
r Jeremiah (an example of a major prophet)
    r Ecclesiastes (Wisdom Literature)
r Psalms and Proverbs (Hebrew poetry)

    The New Testament overview includes:
r The Gospel of Luke (the life of Jesus)
    r Acts (the early church)
r Ephesians (an introduction to the teaching of Paul)
r 1 Corinthians (life in the church)
r 1 Peter (an introduction to Peter)
r 1 Timothy (an introduction to the Pastoral Epistles)
    r Hebrews (Christology)
    r Romans (Paul’s theology)

I wonder how many today have actually heard sermons or had Bible studies on some of these OT books so an encouragement to read them is good. Thank God we still have men preaching on them, i.e., Ryken is in the Book of Ecclesiastes at present and it is refreshing.
