We live in an age where the church is increasingly convinced that it has to create gimmicks in order to convert people. Oftentimes, the church is only really concerned about getting people in the door. The Gospel thus drops out of sight entirely. Has God actually prescribed for us the way to make disciples? Yes, and the Great Commission tells us how. This book should help us to return to the Gospel as the Gospel, and not what we try to make (or twist!) out of it. This book is 50% off right now at WTS bookstore.

It is sad that American churches have resorted to these “church programs” which produce a church full of unregenerate churchy people. What is even more shameful is that this goes on in “reformed” churches. Maybe it’s time to ditch the silly programs and start preaching the gospel. God will convert His Elect.

Get one for each of your RE’s and TE’s (adding Horton’s new Systematic Theology – The Christian Faith – for those who teach & preach). That’s what I’ve done in our PCA church, enamored with inter-religion and secular social good works organization involvements.
