…weighing in at just under 1,000 pages! I have never heard of these authors before, but Richard Gaffin commends it, and is glad that it is now in English, apparently for the first time. I intend to check it out.

LOL! The concise version is 1,000 pages? I’d hate to know how long a full-length version would be…

It appears that there’s a dual format: 1) a concise overview, and then 2) a more in-depth section. I’ve thought about organizing a systematic theology in that fashion. The setup is attractive to those fairly new at the theological enterprise and helps them gain understanding and then allows them to move on to deeper levels, and all that in one (admittedly massive) volume! I think it’s a good idea.
Pr. Lane, please let us know what you think of it. I gotta say that the name is something of a loser – I think it’s guaranteed to miss the getting-into-theology-and-wanna-learn-more market.

Thanks for the heads up, Tim. I do plan on ordering it in December. I’ll let people know what I think of it then, along with Douglas Kelly’s new tome in ST.
